Gummy Smile

A “Gummy smile” is commonly referred to when the upper lip elevates too far above the upper teeth, exposing gums with a smile. This happen due to several causes, one of which is a hyperactive muscle which elevates the upper lip. Let us help you regain your confidence simply and effectively, by injecting small amounts of Botox into the hyperactive muscle of the upper lip, we can reduce its activity giving you a smile that is natural & carefree.

What does the treatment involve?

CONSULTATION: At the start of any treatment a thorough consultation will take place, where our specialized dermatologist will discuss your specific skin care needs and concerns. The Doctor will examine your ability to move certain muscles to determine location, size and use of the muscles that create your wrinkles.
PROCESS: The Doctor will inject a small amount of Botox into the hyperactive muscle responsible for causing your upper lip to rise up higher. The relaxation of the upper lip muscle softens the upper lip-rise which reduces your gum line exposure while you smile, improving your smile.
TIME: A session takes between 10 -20 minutes.
FINISHING: After the procedure you may notice slight redness in the treated area. This will subside after an hour or so.
NUMBER OF TREATMENTS NEEDED: The results are temporary and last about three to four months. It is recommended to have the treatment regularly every 4 months to maintain results.
